I've always had an appreciation and passion for photography. My early interests were in nature and landscapes. Naturally, Ansel Adams, with his grandiose, awe-inspiring black & white images, his mastery of light and composition, was a huge inspiration in my desire to learn more about photography. I dabbled here and there with a point-and-shoot camera, a little beyond the casual family photos, but for obvious reasons never got the results I was hoping for.

Digital photography emerged on the scene and I was immediately hooked. The new film SLR and lenses I had were shelved in favor for a progression of crude digital point-and-shoot cameras. The instantaneous feedback and results were educational and addictive. However, the quality and resolution of the images were far inferior to film. I made the jump to Canon's groundbreaking digital SLR, the D30 and the rest is history.

The D30, with its versatility and similarities to a traditional SLR, has allowed me to learn about photography at an accelerated pace. It has even opened the doors to my exploration of studio photography and large and medium format film cameras. However my true passion still lies in capturing the moment, my thoughts and interests, and how I see the world. Being able to share that with others is truly rewarding. Another beautiful thing about photography is that it's limitless. There are so many kinds of photography to learn and explore, it never gets dull or boring. I still love landscapes and nature, but have developed strong interests in other types of photography including food, travel, motorsports, weddings, people and portraits. Still so much to try and learn.
